PlastOil From the end to the beginning

Event Details

The PlastOil technology transfers plastic waste into valuable fuel. PlastOil South Africa has the rights to South Africa for a technology owned by the Dutch company Petrogas, enabling the production of SANS 342 specification low sulphur diesel from plastic. PlastOil South Africa and Petrogas are looking to set-up projects that benefit the Polyolefin plastic fraction which can be found in municipal solid waste (MSW). Through the setup of such projects and working collectively with municipalities, controlling bodies, industry organistions, the long term vision is to reduce the volume of plastic making its way to landfill.

In Department of Design, PlastOil will showcase innovative technologies and present alternatives to landfilling waste plastic. PlastOil will be introduced through the viewing of a video and then engagement on the various benefits of the PlastOil system and it being implemented in South Africa. It will also be an opportunity to engage and interact with the attendees with regards to the challenges that PlastOil face in securing feedstock within the Western Cape and South Africa.
