Resilient Cities is one of the key focus areas for cooperation between South Africa (SA) and the Netherlands (NL). It is an umbrella theme under which multiple sectors can be explored and showcased within the NL mission network in SA (the Embassy in Pretoria and the Consulate General in Cape Town).

As a result of the above, and with more global focus being on the “city state”, the NL mission network in SA has introduced a flagship event focusing on opportunities to collaborate with specific South African cities. Cape Town is this year’s city of choice to explore potential opportunities in co-creating solutions for local challenges.

These opportunities will be explored by the NL mission network in South Africa in five key event pillars during the course of November 2019:

A trade mission from the Netherlands will visit the cities of Johannesburg and Cape Town between 19-21 November 2019 seeking partnerships within the water, agriculture, transport and energy sectors.
