Sematsatsa Library: Information/Reading Session
Sematsatsa Library encourages everyone to take part in a journey to discover lives – female lives – black and proud who imagine an enlightened world through their work. From East to west, North to South, we’re involving arts organisations, businesses and civil society to give names of women who, through their work, propose Africanism and womanism.
We will also be unpacking certain activities we’re already having and also sharing some of the people we think do not find a space in the world for their work to be seen and be honored, whilst they’re still in our midst. Our expectation is to have 100 names by the end of August 2014, during the women’s month and launch Sematsatsa Library during the month of September with some of our ladies in attendance. We’re also calling on individuals to be part of our Board of Advisors, should anyone be interested in unpacking and documenting the historical , economic and social impact of women on our continent.
