As a follow up to the signing of a MoU in 2017, the partnership between The Royal Dutch Football Association (KNVB) and its WorldCoaches programme, the Netherlands Consulate General through its national campaign #cocreateSA and the Nelson Mandela Foundation will host a series of activities for the 2018 Mandela 100 Legacy Project. The initiative forms part of the ‘Football and Social Development post World Cup 2010 and on to 2020 agenda'.

WorldCoaches Workshops

26 - 30 November 2018 

Khayelitsha Stadium 

During this week, 100 aspiring coaches will be trained by Ambassadors of the WorldCoaches program, including the highly respected former KNVB football legend Johan Neeskens

 

 

Football Legends Game

1 December 2018 

Westridge Sports Complex, Mitchells Plein  

The Football Legends game, organised by Fives Futbol, will host 5 players per side in a friendly match between legendary South African and Dutch football players. The players are yet to be confirmed. 

Opened to the public, no entrance required. 

 

 

Kids Football Festival

1 December 2018 

Westridge Sports Complex, Mitchells Plein  

In partnership with the Run4Schools initiative, underprivileged children from marginalised communities between the ages of 12-14 years will have the opportunity to enjoy a day of fun football activities. 

Opened to the public, no entrance required.
