Lethabo Motsoaledi on being an Inspiring Fifty 2017 winner
We chatted to Lethabo Motsoaledi, Co-founder and CEO of Motsoaledi & West, an Innovation studio that helps companies better satisfy customer needs, test new ideas and explore new markets.
“In everything I do, I believe in challenging the status quo and always finding the better way of doing things. I am an advocate of Design led-Innovation as I believe it to be the best approach to problem solving when innovating to produce technological solutions in the South African context - where socio-economic factors need always. The Inspiring Fifty platform created a positive spotlight on the work that we do. Since being chosen as one of the Inspiring Fifty, I have since been I identified by other platforms wishing to celebrate my work and achievements."
These include being featured as part of Destiny Magazine’s Power of 40 and being on the cover of Forbes Woman Africa (2018 March to May issue).
I believe that other women in the STEM sector should sign up for two reasons:
It’s important to have women represented in tech because as more industries step into the digital age, technology will permeate every part of our economy. Therefore, we cannot afford to have women left behind.
In order for our girls to perform better in STEM subjects, they need to see the possibility of a successful career in tech. We need to have more women in tech proving that it is indeed possible.”
